2007

December

   Alliance Air begins CRJ operation with six weekly flights on Delhi- Vizag- Delhi sector from 15th      December 2007, followed by three flights on Delhi-Raipur-Delhi sector from 26th December 2007.

   A new link from Delhi to Bhopal via Gwalior was introduced on 1st December 2007 with a 48-seater ATR      42 aircraft.

November

   ATR-42 operation on Delhi - Allahabad sector introduced from 28th November 2007.

   The second converted Boeing 737 aircraft was inducted into Air India Cargo and leased to GATI on 13th      November 2007 to operate on the Delhi-Mumbai-Bangalore –Delhi sector.

    The 7th and 8th owned Airbus 319 aircraft inducted into the fleet.

October

    First Airbus A330 aircraft, in the new Air India livery, inducted into fleet with a two class configuration –      24 seats in Executive class and 255 in Economy class.

    Mumbai linked to Kuwait four times a week, with a direct Airbus A320 operation from 28th October 2007.

   Air India presented the ‘Best South Asian Airline’ award for the second consecutive year by Travel Trade      Journal TTG Asia at Bangkok.

   Direct Air India Express flight commences operation between Kolkata and Singapore on 7th October 2007.

   Flights on the Delhi-Bangkok-Singapore sector introduced from 1st October 2007 with four flights a week.

September

   Kullu put on air map on 30th September 2007 with the operation of four times a week ATR-42 service to      and from Delhi.

   Airbus A320 aircraft replaces ATR on thrice weekly Kolkata- Dimapur-Kolkata flight.

   ATR-42 operations introduced from Kanpur to Delhi on 20th September 2007.

   Air India presented the UN Environment Award at Montreal on 16th September 2007 in recognition of its contribution to control environmental pollution.

August

   National Aviation Company of India Limited (NACIL) came into being on 27th August 2007, following the merger of Air India and Indian Airlines into a single airline. The brand to be called Air India.

   For the second consecutive year, Indian adjudged as the ‘Most Preferred Domestic Airline’ for the CNBC Awaaz Consumer Award.

   Second and third Airbus A321 inducted into the fleet.

July

   Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh launches the new fleet of the unified Air India at the Air Force Station at New Delhi on 28th July 2007.

   In-flight entertainment (IFE) introduced on Airbus A321 flights from 12th July 2007.

   First new Airbus 321 aircraft joins the fleet on 3rd July 2007. The aircraft arrived in the new Air India      livery.

June

   Indian gets NASSCOM’s ‘Best IT User Award ‘ on 25th June 2007 for the Airline’s web booking process      module.

May

   Indian tops list of favourite Domestic Airline Brands in the Economic Times Brand Equity Most Trusted      Brands Survey for 2006.

   Indian voted the favourite airline of Indians living in the Gulf and presented the Emirates Post Business and       Excellence Award 2007 on May 17, 2007.

   Surat put on the air map by Indian on 6th May 2007 with a daily flight from Delhi.

   Indian finalizes MRO with Airbus and EADS partner.

April

   FAA renews its approval to the Indian Jet Engine Overhaul Complex for Approved Foreign Repair Station.

   Indian becomes market leader again with a market share of 21.9%.

March

   Indian receives the PATWA “Most Trusted Domestic Airlines Award”.

   Indian signs MoU for setting up airframe MRO facility with Jupiter Aviation.

   Indian introduces Delhi – Mumbai – Muscat flight.

February

   Indian introduces on-line check-in facility called i-check in.

   Indian introduces Delhi – Kochi direct flight.

2006

December

   Indian logs on to e-ticketing for metro cities with Amadeus as IT service provider.

   Thrice weekly Delhi- Patna morning flight introduced.

   Indian breaks all previous records of passenger carriage by carrying 8.37 lakh passengers in
      December 2006.

November

   Bangalore – Male direct flight introduced.

   Indian launches its Platinum Credit Card operating on the MasterCard platform with ICIC Bank.

   Indian signs MoU with world engine major Snecma Services for putting up an engine MRO facility for
       CFM56 aircraft engines.

   Indian launches a new scheme ‘Touch-10/Touch-20” for its regular passengers.

October

   Indian received the first of the 43 Airbus on order – an A319 - taking the fleet size to 74.

   Delhi linked to Tirupati for the first time.

   Bangalore-Male direct flight introduced.

September

   Delhi-Khajuraho-Varanasi Link resumed.

   Varanasi-Kathmandu link restored.

August

   Spot Fares scheme launched.

   Indian awarded the Hospitality India Award for the Best Domestic Airline.

   I-mint loyalty programme launched in partnership with ICICI Bank,Airtel, HPCL,
      Lifestyle Stores and Make My Trip . com.

   Indian awarded the CNBC Consumer Award for the Best Domestic Airline.

   Airbus A320 service introduced on the Mumbai – Indore - Bhopal – Delhi sector

   Pay Smart scheme launched with Standard Chartered, ICICI and Citibank allowing passengers
     to pay for their tickets in 10 equal interest free installments

   IA gets the Mera Brand Award in the Domestic Airline Category at the Consumer World Awards 2004
   The 47th leased 320 aircraft joins the fleet.
   The 46th leased 320 aircraft joins the fleet.
   Indian Airlines wins the 2005 PATA Gold AWARD for Marketing.

   IA carries 30045 passengers across the network, the highest ever.

   The 45th leased 320 aircraft joins the fleet.

   Indian Airlines launches a co-brand Green Credit Card.

July

   IA’s 42nd leased A-320 aircraft joins the fleet.

   The Company posted a net profit of Rs 44.17 crore for the year 2003-04.

January

   The Jet Engine Overhaul Complex (JEOC) of Indian Airlines acquires FAA certification.
   Delhi-Lahore flight restarted with A320 after a gap of almost 11 years.
